Un film de Daniel Schmid
Ce film émouvant raconte l’histoire des habitants de la Casa di Riposo à Milan, première maison de retraite dans le monde pour les anciens chanteurs d’opéras, fondée par Giuseppe Verdi en 1896. Parmi les artistes qui apparaissent dans le film, Sara Scuderi, Giovanni Puligheddu, Leonida Bellon, Salvatore Locapo, Giuseppe Manacchini, Della Benning et Irma Colasanti, de même que d’autres résidents. Le film a été tourné par le réalisateur suisse Daniel Schmid, et il a ainsi immortalisé ces grands artistes du passé, faisant revivre et rejouant les rôles de leur carrière à la scène dans le cadre modeste de cette maison. Tosca’s Kiss est un film à la fois comique et émouvant qui expose le vieillissement et la nature intemporelle et exaltante de la musique.
Le DVD présente des œuvres de Verdi, Puccini et Donizetti, de même que des biographies et des interviews d’artistes. Est également inclus en bonus un documentaire spécial sur le personnage principal du film, Sara Scuderi, dans des extraits enregistrés pour HMV à la fin des années 40.
